One of the key problems for filming in Russia is the time needed for getting the filming permits. Filming from a helicopter is really hard due to the fact that Saint Petersburg still has many areas that are banned for filming and you’ll have to spend many days getting your filming itinerary approved. In January 2015 our company got a permanent permit for aerial filming in Saint Petersburg.
And even more good news: In 2014 the only available for filming helicopter was an impressive but large and expensive MI-8 (NATO reporting name: Hip).
